đ Anatomy of a Life After Everything Tarot Card (and Its Guidebook Twin)
â Tue, Dec 02, 2025 at 07:01:12 AM
Star-sailors, letâs zoom in for a second.
Youâve seen the spreads, the shimmer, the big cosmic vibes⊠but what actually lives on a single Life After Everything tarot card? And how does the guidebook turn that art into something you can really use in your readings?
Today weâre zooming in on the anatomy of a card and giving you a peek at how the guidebook is structured.
đȘ Four Suits, Four Energies
Life After Everything follows the familiar tarot structure (Majors + Minors), but each Minor suit has been reimagined as a different flavor of cosmic energy:
Planets (Pentacles â Planets) Material Energy: work, health, home, body, and building something that lasts. Like planets formed over ages, this suit is all about stability, resources, and the slow magic of showing up.
Nebulae (Wands â Nebulae) Creative Energy: inspiration, drive, frustration, and transformation. Like stars being born in cosmic clouds, this suit holds the spark, the ambition, and the messy part of becoming.
Constellations (Swords â Constellations) Mental Energy: thoughts, communication, perception. Like stars connected into patterns, this suit is about mapping meaning across chaos and seeing the story inside the noise.
Gravity Wells (Cups â Gravity Wells) Emotional Energy: feeling, memory, connection, intuition. Like gravity itself, invisible but inescapable, this suit is the heartâs pull, the force that gives your journey weight and direction.
So if you already read RWS, you can step right into this system, just with a more cosmic skin and a deeper lore layer humming underneath.
𧏠The Card Layout: A Tiny Cosmos in Your Hand
From top to bottom, each LAE card is built to tell a story at a glance:
1. Title & Rank
Majors carry a Roman numeral at the top (like IV for The Emperor), plus the card title at the bottom.
Minors show their suit and rank (e.g., Six of Planets, Ace of Nebulae).
Aside from the numerals, the anatomy is the same across Majors and Minors, so everything you learn from one card applies everywhere.
2. Central Illustration (The Story Moment)
In the center, you get a full scene pulled from the world of Life After Everything:
The Emperor seated on an asteroid throne, holding the line as cosmic portals swirl around them.
The Ace of Nebulae diving through starlit chaos, right at the moment of creative ignition.
The Six of Planets patiently balancing cosmic scales, measuring whatâs given and whatâs received.
Each illustration is a frozen moment in a story, designed so even a single card draw feels like a frame from a movie.
3. Class & Subclass â The Cardâs âRoleâ
Beneath the title, youâll see a small line like:
GUARDIAN / ANCHOR This is the cardâs Cosmic Card Class and Subclass, its role in the grand pattern of the cosmos.
There are four main Classes:
Catalyst â sparks change, breaks stagnation
Navigator â guides, reveals, searches
Weaver â connects, builds, harmonizes
Guardian â protects, heals, stabilizes
Each has Subclasses (like Awakener, Igniter, Builder, Healer, Anchor, etc.) that give the card a particular âjob.â
For example:
The Emperor is a Guardian / Anchor
The stabilizer. The one who holds the structure when everything else wants to fly apart.
Ace of Nebulae might appear as a Catalyst / Igniter
The spark that kicks everything off, the creative leap.
In readings, this gives you a fast shortcut to how the card behaves:
Is this energy trying to protect? To build? To disrupt? To guide?
4. The Three Stats â Resonance, Transformation, Stability
At the bottom of each card, youâll find three small icons with numbers.
These are the cardâs personality stats:
Resonance (âïž sun symbol) Cosmic awareness, intuition, spiritual sensitivity.
High Resonance cards feel tuned-in, psychic, synchronistic.
In a spread, they can point to moments of strong intuition and alignment.
High Transformation cards bring movement, shifts, and breakthroughs.
They often show where something is ready to change or evolve.
Stability (â hand symbol) Physicality, endurance, grounding, follow-through.
High Stability cards are solid, reliable, steady.
They highlight whatâs durable, what can be trusted, and where youâre being asked to commit.
For tarot readers, you can think of these as a printed energy profile for each card, helpful when you want to compare cards in a spread or get a quick feel for how âvolatileâ or âsteadyâ a situation is.
đ Inside the Guidebook: How a Card Becomes Story
The cards are designed to be intuitive on their own, but the guidebook is where they really start talking.
Hereâs how a typical entry is structured, using The Emperor as an example:
đȘ 1. Keywords
A quick list like: Structure and Order, Responsible Leadership, Stable Foundation, Protective Authority Perfect for fast reads and riffing on combinations in a spread.
đȘ 2. Imagery Description
A walkthrough of the scene: A figure on a throne carved from a single asteroid, surrounded by organized cosmic architecture⊠nebulae channeled into structured, sustainable systems⊠This helps you notice details you might otherwise missâand gives you language to anchor your intuitive hits.
đȘ 3. Story of This Moment
A short narrative about where you are in the arc: After the fertile creativity of The Empress, you now encounter the need for structure, boundaries, and sustainable systems⊠This roots the card in a bigger journey rather than isolating it as a one-off symbol.
đȘ 4. Life After Everything Meaning (Upright)
The main interpretation, focused on rebuilding, growth, and real life:
Where structure, discipline, and leadership are being invited
How boundaries can support rather than suffocate your creativity
The idea of becoming the benevolent ruler of your own inner world
đȘ 5. Life After Everything Meaning (Reversed)
The shadow expression:
Control issues, rigidity, or avoidance of responsibility
Trouble with authority (internal or external)
The tension between âno structure at allâ and âtoo much controlâ
Rather than just saying âthis is bad,â the reversed meaning explores how the energy can get distorted, and how to gently bring it back into balance.
đȘ 6. A Question for Your Inner Cosmos
A reflective prompt like: Where in my life do I need to step into more responsible leadership, and what structures would actually support rather than constrain my authentic expression? Great for journaling, therapy work, or just evening reflection.
đȘ 7. An Invitation to Explore
A small, concrete action: Identify one area of your life that feels chaotic and create one loving structure or boundary that brings more order and peace⊠Every card ends with something gentle and doable, so your reading doesnât just land as âinformation,â but an actual path forward.
đ Thank You for Going This Deep With Us
Designing the anatomy of each card, and the structure of the guidebook that supports it, has been one of the most obsessive, joyful parts of this project.
If youâre already a backer: thank you for believing in a deck that wants to be more than just pretty art.
If youâve been watching from the sidelines and you love:
Tarot with real depth and intentional worldbuilding
A guidebook that actually walks with you through life, not just lists meanings
And the chance to choose between Cosmic and Gold flavors of the same celestial storyâŠ
âŠthis might be your sign to step through the portal and join us. đâš

Hey everyone,
In the U.S., today is Thanksgiving, but wherever youâre reading this from, whatever you do or donât celebrate, I wanted to take a moment to send a little gratitude across the star-seas.
This campaign has pulled in people from all over the world: different time zones, cultures, and traditions, all orbiting the same strange little dream about tarot, stories, and rebuilding life after everything. That means a lot to me, and I donât take it lightly.
Whether you:
jumped in on Day 1,
just discovered the project yesterday,
are quietly watching from the sidelines deciding if itâs for you,
or have been in the comments asking questions, sharing ideas, and hyping others up.
Youâre part of why this world is coming to life.
A Moment to Breathe (and Appreciate)
I know this time of year can be intense. Some folks are surrounded by family. Some are working. Some are alone by choice, some not. Some are celebrating, others are just trying to make it through the week.
Wherever you fall on that spectrum, I hope you get at least one small pocket of peace, a cup of something warm, a deep breath, a quiet moment with a book, a game, a pet, or just your own thoughts.
From my side of the cosmos: Iâm incredibly grateful that youâve chosen to spend even a sliver of your time, attention, and resources on Life After Everything: Astro Oceans. Thanks to you, this isnât just an idea in my head anymore, itâs a real deck, a real game, and a real community starting to form.
A Tiny Prompt for Today đź
In the spirit of reflection, hereâs a little question you can sit with, journal on, or even pull a card for if you feel called:
âWhere in my life am I already more supported than I realize, and whatâs one small way I can honor that support today?â
No pressure, no homework. Just an invitation.
Whatâs Next for the Campaign
Iâll keep this part short and sweet:
Iâm continuing to refine art, layout, and content behind the scenes.
More previews, lore, and peeks at both the tarot and TTRPG side are coming soon.
Weâre still pushing toward our next stretch goals, and every share, comment, and conversation genuinely helps.
If you feel like spreading the word today or this weekend, amazing. If all you have the energy for is existing and maybe glancing at a post or two, thatâs valid too. Youâre still part of this.
From my corner of the cosmos to yours: thank you for being here, in whatever way youâre able.
With love and starlight, Samuel / Gifted Ocean đâš
Cosmic vs. Gold â 3-Card Side-by-Side đâš
9 months ago
â Tue, Nov 25, 2025 at 05:08:10 AM
Today weâre putting both editions on the table: the Cosmic Deck and the Gold Edition, using three cards as our comparison set, Six of Planets, Ace of Nebulae, and The Emperor.
The base artwork is the same across both decks; what changes is the world they live in:
Cosmic Deck â Black-and-white linework with shimmering holographic foil that catches the light like starlight on deep space.
Gold Edition â A soft, milky blue palette with rich gold foil accents that feel like illuminated manuscript meets star-myth. On some cards, the foil details shift, for example, the Ace of Nebulae (Gold Edition) features gold-foiled stars that glow against the softer colors.
Youâll see all three cards side by side in this update so you can get a feel for how each edition tells the same story in a different light.
Six of Planets
Ace of Nebulae
The Emperor
đ Next Stretch Goal â 75k: King of Nebulae STL
If we reach 75k, weâll unlock the King of Nebulae as a 3D-printable STL file:
A towering celestial entity born from drifting star-clouds and forgotten empires
Designed as a dramatic centerpiece mini for your Astro Oceans sessions, altars, or display shelves
Ideal for tabletop scale (think around 32mm heroic or larger as a boss)
đ Who gets it? When we hit 75k, the King of Nebulae STL will be added as a digital reward for all backers.
Youâll be able to print your own King of Nebulae at home or through a local / online 3D print service, and bring this cosmic monarch to your table as an ally, patron, or terrifying force of nature.
Alongside this campaign, weâre running a Community Mystery Stretch Goal on Instagram and Facebook. When our announcement post reaches 200 shares, weâll unlock a secret reward for everyone. đ

Behind the Cards: The Cosmic Cycle on Every Back
9 months ago
â Sat, Nov 22, 2025 at 05:35:49 AM
Hey Star-Sailors đâš
Youâve seen the faces of the cards⊠now itâs time to finally show you their backs, the image youâll probably spend the most time with while shuffling, cutting, and drawing from the deck. in this update weâre sharing some of the artworks, drafts, and concept explorations that led us here, and the story theyâre all built around.
The back design for Life After Everything: Astro Oceans wasnât just âcool space art.â It was carefully built to feel like a cycle of life every time you hold the deck in your hands.
A cycle of life on the back of every card
Concept card-back explorations â final Cosmic & Gold decks will differ
Concept art â not final product
From the first sketches, the goal was for the card back to feel like a cycle of life you could trace with your eyes:
At the bottom, waves, and a lone figure on the shore represent the âold worldâ and that moment before a big leap.
In the middle, the water spirals upward into a cosmic current, wrapping around a ringed planet, the turning point where choices, change, and growth collide.
At the top, we rise fully into the stars: eclipsed suns, birds in flight, and a field of starlight where two mirrored figures reach toward each other.
Even in these early concepts, the composition loops in an endless curve, so the whole back feels like a continuous journey of endings, crossings, and returns.
Where Life After Everything lives in the cycle
The core idea of Life After Everything is what happens after the old world falls away, when youâre standing in the ruins, choosing what to carry forward and what new world you want to build.
Thatâs baked into this back:
The shoreline is the âeverythingâ thatâs ended. The spiraling current is the passage through uncertainty, grief, and transformation. The ringed planet with our sigil is that âclickâ moment where you realize you are not just moving through the story, youâre shaping it. The celestial sky and the mirrored figures are the new world: the future youâre in conversation with every time you pull a card. So even before you see a single tarot image, the back of the deck is already telling the story: Endings, crossings, and the worlds we choose to create next.
Thank you for asking (loudly!) to see the back of the cards, your excitement pushed us to make sure it carried the full spirit of the project.
What part of the design speaks to you most, the shoreline, the ringed planet, or the mirrored figures? Let us know in the comments đŹ
More peeks are coming soon. Until then: keep sailing the star-seas. đđ
